Do I have to be a member to use all of NACM's services?

No, but we do encourage membership to help advance your personal & company goals and to promote employee education. To use the NACM National Trade Credit Report and participate in Industry Credit Group Meetings, membership is a requirement. Additionally, we offer discounts that more than make up for the cost of our membership fee. Most other services listed on this page are available without membership, but also without the member discounted rate.

Why is membership required to run credit reports and participate in credit groups?

In many cases, the information you are looking for and also sharing, is with competitors in your industry. Yet it is vital information and only possible to share when the parties are trusted, accurate, confidential, and operate within all laws governing the exchange of credit information. Confidential credit information shared through data contribution and at industry credit group meetings is entered in to the NACM National Trade Credit Report and is available exclusively to NACM members. Membership allows us to set stricter guidelines on who has access to information and the member owned structure of our organization also allows us to offer lower prices on almost every service we offer.

Because of NACM strict guidelines and the level of involvement our members have, many companies will not even provide a trade reference by phone, fax, or email to another company that is not a member of NACM.
