Business Risk Information

Public Record Information for Better Credit Decisions

Public records can provide valuable insight into changes in a company’s financial condition. A newly filed bankruptcy, tax lien, judgment or construction lien may indicate increased credit risk before that risk becomes apparent through normal payment history.

NACM lien and legal reports help credit professionals monitor this information as part of an effective accounts receivable and credit risk management program.

Weekly Reporting

Reports are published weekly and distributed electronically or made available through the subscriber’s NACM account, depending upon the report.

Reports are provided in a searchable PDF format for convenient research, review and recordkeeping.

Credit Risk Management

Why Monitor Liens & Public Records?

01

Identify Changing Risk

Newly filed liens, judgments or bankruptcies may indicate deteriorating financial conditions before payment problems become obvious.

02

Protect Accounts Receivable

Public record information can provide another source of intelligence when evaluating credit limits, terms and collection strategies.

03

Find Construction Activity

Florida Notice of Commencement information can help identify active construction projects and the companies involved in those projects.

04

Improve Credit Decisions

Combine legal and public record information with trade payment history and other commercial credit information for a broader view of business risk.

i

Important Public Record Information

Certain records may be excluded when the public record is associated with an individual’s Social Security number rather than a business federal taxpayer identification number.

This can affect some LLCs, fictitious business names and other entities that use an individual’s Social Security number for federal tax identification purposes.

The availability, timing and completeness of public records can also vary by jurisdiction and source.
