Credit reports prepared for Florida contractor licensing
Florida contractor licensing applications frequently require credit information for the individual applicant, the business being qualified, or both. NACM South Atlantic regularly processes these reports and understands the information required by Florida licensing authorities.
Current Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board requirements call for applicable credit reports to include a FICO-derived credit score and indicate that public records have been searched at the local, state, and federal levels. NACM South Atlantic prepares contractor licensing credit reports with these requirements in mind.

Understanding the 660 credit-score requirement
Florida contractor licensing rules use a FICO-derived credit score as part of demonstrating financial stability. A score of 660 or higher generally satisfies the credit-score portion of that requirement, provided other financial-responsibility requirements are also met.
If an applicant’s score is below 660, Florida rules may require completion of an approved 14-hour financial responsibility course.
Florida DBPR requirements specify that qualifying credit reports include
a FICO-derived score and indicate that public records were searched.

Why can’t NACM send me a copy of my personal report?
Personal credit reports are subject to consumer credit bureau agreements, privacy requirements, and restrictions concerning how consumer credit information may be distributed.
NACM South Atlantic obtains personal credit information specifically for an authorized licensing purpose. For that reason, we cannot provide the complete personal credit report directly to the applicant.
